LocalButcher is a brand owned and operated by Tahoe Technologies Private Limited, a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, with its registered office in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following personal data when you use the LocalButcher app:
- Phone Number — Used for account creation, OTP login, order confirmations, and delivery updates via SMS/WhatsApp.
- Precise Location — Used to identify your delivery address, show nearby available vendors, and calculate delivery time. Location is accessed only when the app is in use (foreground only).
- Order History — Records of items ordered, order value, timestamps, and delivery addresses. Used to power your cashback wallet, repeat-order suggestions, and customer support.
- Device Information — Device model, OS version, and app version for debugging and compatibility.
- Payment Information — We do not store card or UPI details. All payment processing is handled by Cashfree Payments (PCI-DSS compliant). We store only transaction IDs and payment status.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To process and deliver your orders
- To credit and manage your cashback wallet balance
- To send order status updates and delivery notifications
- To provide customer support via our in-app agent (Meera)
- To improve app performance and fix bugs
- To comply with applicable laws and regulations
3. Data Sharing
We share your data only with:
- Vendor shops — Your name, phone number, and delivery address are shared with the fulfilling shop to prepare and dispatch your order.
- Delivery partners — Name and delivery address shared with riders for last-mile delivery.
- Cashfree Payments — Payment processing. Governed by Cashfree's Privacy Policy.
- Legal authorities — When required by law or court order.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Ever.
4. Data Retention
- Account data — Retained for the duration of your account and 3 years after deletion (for legal/tax compliance).
- Order history — Retained for 7 years (GST compliance requirement under Indian law).
- Location data — Not stored beyond the active session. We do not log your location history.
5. Your Rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Withdraw consent at any time

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.2+) for all data in transit. Payment data is handled exclusively by Cashfree Payments and never touches our servers.
8. Changes to This Policy
We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification at least 7 days before they take effect.
